As part of the vetting process, SAVORTEX took part in a ‘Green Dragon’s Den-style’ innovation competition hosted by Wates, with finalists given the opportunity to roll out their innovative product or technology across Wates sites.
SAVORTEX eco and smart dryers were voted as low energy, smart and innovative. Key factors of SAVORTEX innovations are energy and waste savings, resource efficiency from understanding data, and the sustainable procurement options that back the smart dryers.
Dr Zainab Dangana, Sustainability R&D Manager at Wates Smart space said:
As a family-owned construction services company that has been established for over 119 years, the Wates Group has a robust set of values and a long-term vision for the future. As a result, we are keen to promote the uptake of innovative sustainable technologies so that we can support our customers in constructing low carbon buildings for a sustainable future.
This commitment has seen us launch a series of Green Dragon’s Den-style competitions to identify innovative, energy efficient and waste saving building products that are suitable for use on customer sites.
SAVORTEX took part in one of our recent competitions, undergoing a rigorous selection process where some of Wates Smartspace’s key decision makers assessed the product against robust marking criteria before selecting it as a finalist. The smart hand dryer has now been successfully installed at Wates’ Head office in Leatherhead and has also been recommended to a number of our partners across a range of sectors, some of which are currently in discussion with SAVORTEX to install this technology at their sites across the UK. We look forward to encouraging our clients to adopt SAVORTEX as part of their solution to constructing energy efficient low carbon buildings.
Syed Ahmed, CEO of SAVORTEX, said:
We were delighted to have participated in Wates’ innovation competition, where they investigated a number of pioneering energy-efficient initiatives. Of course, we were also delighted to secure this contract with one of the UK’s leading major contractors , underpinning our firm belief that smart products and buildings can serve a sustainable future. We now look forward to working with Wates across their portfolio of buildings to provide savings in energy and waste, and to demonstrate how the data gathered from our dryers can help to further improve Wates’ sustainability and profitability.
