What is Business Sustainability?

Business sustainability refers to business models and managerial decisions grounded in financial, environmental and social concerns.
Sustainable companies:

  • Create long-term financial value.
  • Know how their actions affect the environment and actively work to reduce their impacts.
  • Care about their employees, customers and communities and work to make positive social change.
  • Understand these three elements are intimately connected to each other.

Compared to companies that focus on short-term profits and make decisions based solely on the bottom line, sustainable companies think long term.

They forge strong relationships with employees and members of the community. They find ways to reduce the amount of natural resources they consume and the amount of waste and pollution they produce. As a result, sustainable companies thrive, surviving shocks like global recessions, worker strikes, executive scandals and boycotts by environmental activists.

Background

UK businesses could save £23 billion per year by improving the way they use resources and interact with their business premises, furthermore the built environment accounts for around 33% of waste and 47 per cent of UK greenhouse gas emissions, and what’s alarming is that 30% – 50% of the energy in buildings is wasted!

In order to reduce overall emissions and waste in line with government policy, by 80 percent by 2050, both existing and new buildings must provide measurable data to provide greater transparency, being built and renovated to ‘climate-friendly’ standards. Thus, smart energy management is the most dynamic segment of the building technologies and services industry.

The Company

SAVORTEX® is a multi-award winning British IoT (Internet of things) hand-hygiene technology company. With over 400 projects deployed internationally to multinational companies such as Gatwick Airport, The Shard, Euro Garages, Wates and RBS to name a few.

In partnership with Intel® the we have built the world’s first patented and IoT-enabled hand-dryer range and now a new Smart hand sanitiser range to disrupt these inefficient sectors and transform corporate facilities into cost saving, hygienic and revenue producing smart spaces.

The SAVORTEX Smart range is data-driven, cost saving, hygienic and revenue generating. It’s the game changer!

Introduction to Hand Hygiene

There are 70 million washrooms globally: 20 percent are equipped with environmentally unfriendly, unhygienic hand-dryers that don’t properly dry hands, and around 80 percent offer expensive paper towels that create three million tons of waste, costing corporate landlords £10.5bn per year.

The worldwide market for Hand Sanitizers is valued at $2.7 billion in 2019, however after Covid-19 is forecast to grow to $36.6 billion by 2026. The unmistakable impact of the disease is driving people to take the recommendations of health authorities in hand sanitation.

The demand for hand hygiene products has been exceeding the supply channels worldwide owing to the global outbreak of the virus in a short time span. The outbreak has reinforced the importance of hand sanitising in the workplace which can be tracked to encourage better hand hygiene behaviour in the workplace.

The ability to use IoT to track individual hand drying and hand sanitising usage is now at the forefront of corporates looking to adopt best hygiene practice to ensure the workplace and other environments become the safest place to carry on activity.

Hand dryers and sanitisers alone address part of the problem but being able to link IoT to identify individuals who use the dryers and sanitiser and washroom cleaning facilities and the ability to report those who do not to building managers, will provide the ability to adopt and encourage the highest levels of hygiene governance in the workplace. That IoT can also provide real time data on the number of times a hand dryer or sanitiser is being used in other locations enables a range of clients including supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and shopping centres with the ability to assess how hygienic their customer base is, to then prevent, detect and remediate.

This puts the SAVORTEX internet-connected hand dryers and hand sanitisers in a unique position to scale up and lead a Smart digital revolution.

The global Smart buildings IoT market size was $43.64 billion in 2018 is projected to reach $109.48 billion by 2026, with 50bn connected devices by 2050. As such, the SAVORTEX data driven devices, reduce building management costs and improve bottom line profitability, they boost facility efficiencies, improve health & safety and transform hand-hygiene.

A Smart Global Solution

SAVORTEX® is a multi-award winning British IoT (Internet of things) hand-hygiene technology company. With over 400 projects deployed internationally to multinational companies such as Gatwick Airport, The Shard, Euro Garages, Wates and RBS to name a few.

In partnership with Intel® we have built the world’s first patented and IoT-enabled hand-dryer and hand sanitiser range (Sanit-i) to disrupt these inefficient sectors and transform corporate facilities into cost saving, hygienic and revenue producing smart spaces.

Our smart dryer and sanitiser range use IoT to track identify users who do not sanitise their hands and has the ability restrict building access and alert building managers of a potential hygiene risk. Further, the video option has the ability to assess audience demographics and push hygiene messages or engage users with tailored, high definition video messages, allowing enterprises to use real data to push marketing content and drive additional revenue streams.

The SAVORTEX Smart range is data-driven, cost saving, hygienic and revenue generating. It’s the game changer!
